Alison is an enthusiastic and accomplished entrepreneur and operator. She leverages her extensive brand development, growth marketing and general management background when analyzing businesses. At Short List Capital, Alison is driven by her love of innovators, visionaries and industry reinventions, particularly in the fintech/crypto and consumer spaces.
During a summer White House internship, Alison’s work on Vice President Gore’s The Globe Program introduced her to the revolutionary possibilities of the web. Alison then sharpened her skills at digital teams within media companies including NBC, Disney, Virgin Mobile and Hachette Filipacchi. She then founded her first start-up in 2009, the direct-to-consumer E/M-commerce One Kings Lane (OKL). OKL disrupted the home decor category by achieving a leadership position and was sold to Bed Bath & Beyond (NASDAQ: BBBY) in 2016.
As a single mother of three, including a son with unique special needs, Alison is germinating an idea that will benefit the exceptional/differently-abled community. Her social impact work also includes responsibilities as an active board member of Enterprise for Youth, an organization that empowers under-resourced youth to reach their potential.
Having found her inner-athlete in her 40s, Alison is often taking up new sports and challenges. Recent goals include re-learning Hebrew, better chefing, and acquiring the art of beautiful handwriting, aka calligraphy.
