Katie’s passion for investing aligns with her commitment to philanthropy. She believes in identifying and supporting innovative vision and extraordinary leadership across the non-profit and for-profit sectors.
When investing in consumer brand businesses, she’s most influenced by transformative ideas and founders who are focused on making the world a better place through high-impact and - in some cases - life-changing products, services, and experiences. Katie likes to cast a wide net but has a particular interest in EdTech, digital fashion, blockchain and consumer spaces.
As Board Chair and President of the Charles and Helen Schwab Foundation, she provides oversight for the foundation’s investments in education reform in K-12 public schools and poverty prevention in the Bay Area. She is also a board member at Tipping Point Community and at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
In her spare time, Katie is passionate about supporting living artists and is an active art collector. She lives in San Francisco with her husband and three daughters.
